The meaning of sustainability is a concept that emerged at the United Nations Conference in 1972 and means "the ability to exist". The concept, which is used in many areas, refers to the ability to keep the buildings intact for future generations in architecture.

The principle of sustainability also focuses on ensuring economic growth that will make societies wealthy without harming the environment. Economic sustainability aims to increase the level of welfare while increasing the consumption of goods and services.

The Sustainable Development Goals aim at ending poverty, protecting the environment, taking action against the climate crisis, equitable distribution of wealth and peace.
